The 2020 Mahotsav

Greetings beautiful people. I hope each and every one of you are doing good and even if you are in a bit of a mess, I pray that it gets better. We all are fighting our own battles and I have to say only one thing at this point in time and that is to come together as one and to be with each other. Stay sanitized at all times and wear a mask.

We're living in such unprecedented times and we really don't know what to expect from it anymore. It has been a year of grief but we are still hopeful and are looking for that ray of light that would bestow positivity in all of us. For us Bengalis, Durga pujo is THE festival that we eagerly wait for throughout the year. This year however things are a bit different than usual and we don't really know what is going to happen and all the Bengalis have that one question to ask "Pujo hobbe toh?". Pujo won't be celebrated in the magnitude that we know of and certainly with a few restrictions but one thing's for sure, Maa ashchen. This though in no way should bring down our excitement and our love for dressing up this Pujo. The one thing which is synonymous with Durga Pujo is ethnic clothing. The one option where we can lean and blindly trust is the option of a pristine kurta and a churidar. Nothing looks better on a man when he dresses up the ethnic way. It perfectly fits the occasion and not only is it the most perfect but also the most obvious option for Maha Ashtami.

A few things to keep in mind when you go for this look are -

1. To NEVER wear sports shoes with this look and ethnic as a whole. It's a big NO. This outfit oozes elegance and you don't want to spoil it by pairing sports shoes with this outfit.

2. Try sticking to the solid colours and small patterns for the kurta because in my opinion too much of work on your kurta kills the entire vibe of the look. There are obviously exceptions weddings being one of them.

3. When selecting a kurta make sure that it is not too baggy nor too tight to your skin. A kurta that fits properly, should be perfect.

For this look, I have paired a cream-coloured kurta with small patterns on it with a Maroon churidar and chappals(i forgot to click the picture:)). I have accessorized my outfit with a simple brown strapped watch and a pair of glasses. I personally won't go with a lot of accessories with this outfit, one or two should be enough. I am really in, on the Nehru jacket and I feel it will just take your game a notch higher. (Highly recommend this one).

That's all for today and I wish you good health with lots of positivity. If you did like the blog post then do share it and let me know your views on Instagram(@themistletoeguy). I would love to hear from you. Durga Pujo is going to be a unique one this year and I hope you have a great one. I'll see you guys in the next blog post.
